My pal Rafe (a brilliant designer btw- check him out!) has been hounding me for years to recreate a shirt that he owns. If I told you how many people ask me to do this...let's just say it's many. And I never do. But Rafe, now that's another story. He's got impeccable taste and I like to think that we share customers in many ways.
So he wanted me to make a shirt but I decided that the idea will translate to a dress just as easily.
The Rafe dress is a simple boxy shape with a zip detail at the shoulder. I've used a spectacular lightweight linen, vintage kimono silk details at collar shoulder and sleeve hem. Side pockets of course. This fabric is quite sheer so I have added a panel across the chest. Meant to be worn over a swimsuit, pants or a slip.
