When Alex came by and asked after computer bags, I showed him the Jack and the Soft Brief as I always do when men ask after a work bag. After extolling the virtues of each bag, I could tell by his "yeah but" face that I wasn't giving him what he needed.
Telling me about his passion in angel investment and the people who he meets with on a regular day, he helped me to understand what his needs are. Although he travels, he felt covered in that department. What he wanted was a piece that's a briefcase for the modern world. A style that houses his computer, the accessories, and other things that will let him easily get from meeting to cab to dinner with one piece. And it should pack without a second thought.
Which got us to this style. The zipper runs the length of two sides, which can be opened as much or as little as needed. The exterior flap functions for document storage, and the hidden zipper can house travel docs, phone or whatever other items you need quick access to but need secure.
A cotton canvas lined interior with another zip pocket, along with a large leather patch pocket for additional quick access to items.
This is made in a sturdy oil tan skin (US) color espresso brown. Over time the skin will get even darker, maintaining it's structure for many years.
