I feel really lucky to have met Gina and have her work in my shop over the past several years. She has similar ideas around design to mine. Find the balance between your materials and your shapes. Balance is everything. She moved to Portland a few years ago, and then had a kid. Since coming back into studio her work has gotten stronger. She's allowing herself to expand on ideas that have been forming over time, and it's great to see the progession.
Here's the bio from her site (which is not yet live but will be soon!)
"Gina Rios is a jeweler, sculptor and mother living and working in Portland, OR.
She created this business as a space to experiment and continually create and offer something new. The job of an artist is to offer alternatives to the reality that is given."
